RIDER TREATMENT

When riding, a shared biomechanical system is created in which horse and rider continuously influence each other. Asymmetries, movement restrictions, or neuromuscular compensations in the rider are reflected in the horse’s movement patterns—and over time may affect both performance and long-term soundness.

For this reason, I also offer treatment for riders, with the aim of optimising physical function in the saddle and reducing the compensatory load placed on the horse.

Treatment combines joint mobilisation techniques, soft tissue therapy, and neuromuscular activation.

The objectives are to:

  • Improve joint and soft tissue mobility
to enable a centrally balanced seat aligned with the horse’s centre of motion

  • Enhance proprioception, postural control, and neuromuscular stability
to support a more symmetrical, adaptable, and mechanically efficient interaction with the horse

  • Promote long-term physical resilience
enabling the rider to tolerate the demands of riding and handling without developing chronic dysfunction
